30 sec. Suzanne

Suzanne’s artistic spirit would lead to a career as a visual designer. She spent over a decade in the 80's and 90's honing her creative skills at publishing houses, advertising agencies, and boutique graphic design firms. At the dawn of the Internet age, she seized the opportunity offered by the web, and transitioned to a digital career, working in New York for online marketing agencies, internet service providers and leading technology consultancies.

In 2001 she founded Suzanne Brown Design which specializes in creative services, including brand identity, logo design and print / marketing. Her large and diversified client portfolio includes projects for Credit Suisse, SolomanSmithBarney, Royal Bank of Canada, Yahoo!, Buzzback, Author, Pat Conroy, Television Personality and Author, Dr. Gail Saltz, Montefiore Hospital and many others.

In 2007, Suzanne authored a lifestyle book, Summer: A User's Guide (Artisan). She has done guest spots on cooking, crafting and living for Good Morning San Diego, NBC 30, Fox 28, Martha Stewart Living Radio, Wisconsin Public Radio, WHHI, and was frequent contributor to the Good Morning Connecticut morning show in New Haven, Ct.

When she is not at her desk, she can be found searching for sharks teeth on the beaches of Hilton Head Island.

The process.

My entire career has been devoted to helping hundreds of business—from mom and pop shops to large corporations—with their visual design needs, and I can help yours as well.

My process is very simple, and has remained the same since my career began 30 years go:

LEARN, EXPLORE, DESIGN, REFINE.

This is the true path of a successful design initiative.

Learn.

Getting to know each client and their business / project is critical to a successful working relationship.

  • Understand the business issues driving initiative
  • Assess how the client works
  • Discuss expectations for deliverables, their ability to review designs and provide feedback
  • Establish project timelines/milestones/deadlines

Explore.

Exploration is the who, what, why and how phase

  • Who is interacting with your business or product and how do they currently experience it?
  • Gain insight into your clients and user groups in order to better serve their needs
  • How can we improve upon the competitive market to differentiate you in the market?

Design.

In the design phase (my favorite part of the process) I roll up my sleeves and get busy!  I design iteratively, so no time is wasted; rapid prototyping not only lets a client see ideas quickly, but also allows me as a designer to work more efficiently.  The results are a more productive work process and dialogue on concepts within days (not weeks!).

Refine.

The design process is fluid, and I am patient. And while I will guide you and offer my honest feedback, client satisfaction is my number one goal.  Whether it's a logo, marketing brochure, visual prototype or any other creative service, I will work tirelessly to make sure the end product is aligned with your vision.
